This Adventurous Journey has been custom designed in consultation for the Silver level of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The journey takes into account students previous experience and Adventurous Journey locations.
Registration
Registration will close 10 days prior to the start date of the Adventurous Journey.
Participants are responsible to ensure the Adventurous Journey for which they are registering is suitable and accepted by the relevant Duke of Edinburgh Award Unit at the appropriate level prior to the Adventurous Journey.
This Adventurous Journey group will be an open enrolment.
Pre Program
Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email that includes an equipment list.
10 days prior to the start date, you will receive an email with a medical form link, program specific documentation and a zoom link and date for a 'Info Night Session'.
'Info Night Session' will be a zoom info session to discuss program specifics. This will be recorded if you are not able to attend.
What is included
Covid Safe Management Plan
Adventurous Journey planning session - conducted via Zoom prior to the journey (2 hour session + participant resources)
Highly experienced and qualified Instructors
Maximum 1:8 Instructor to Participant ratios - maximise outcomes and student support
Locally based 24 hour Program support
National Park Fees & all onsite Camping Fees
Outdoor group equipment including;
Trangia stoves and fuel
Group shelter
Hygiene kits (hand wash stations, soaps, detergent, scrubbers and toilet paper)
Water carry bags and purification
Participant topographic maps and compass
Comprehensive wilderness first aid kits
All safety equipment including satellite phones, SPOT Tracker/PLB (Personal Locator Beacon), and safety management plans
International Adventure Tourism Certified (ISO 21101) – Adventure Tourism Safety Management Systems
Public Liability Insurance
What is not included
Personal clothing and equipment as per the journey specific Essential Clothing and Equipment list
Expedition Backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and sleeping mats
All meals for the duration of the Adventurous Journey
Sufficient cutlery used to prepare meals such as chopping board, knives and spoons
Hire Equipment
You have the option to purchase hire equipment when making a booking
Minimum Numbers Required
We require a minimum of 10 participants to guarantee this Adventurous Journey
